Time and Space 天时

The law of energy conservation states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can only be transformed from one form to another. A physical event is the result of the interactions of various energies in the universe and around us, including births and deaths. At a particular time and space, we begin life on this planet in our mother’s womb. A pair of twins born on the same year, month, day, but just a few minutes apart from each other will not share the same life destiny. Much like a game character, we are born with our unique gifts. Our life's destiny will be to gain wisdom about our strengths and how we can use our strengths to live a holistic and meaningful life.

Everything in our environment carries a characteristic energy or element. Ancient sages term them as the five basic elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. The interaction between these five elements leads to the creation of energy fields. The flow of these energy fields in our environments will have a direct impact on our body and mind. Complementary energy flows enable us to feel at ease, give rise to clarity, allow better control over our mental and emotional states. In contrast, disruptive energy flow around us may generate emotional upheavals, reduce our mental clarity, and lead us to make ill-informed decisions.

There’s a Chinese proverb that goes ‘每个人活着都是为了一口气’. Loosely translated, this means that there’s a ‘breath of energy’ in everyone. Every individual carries a mixture of energy that arises from his/her five elements and the interactions with the environment. This energy can attract and repel. Which is why when we meet the ‘right person’, the ‘chemistry’ triggers certain reactions to take place and the attractive energy produces positive outcomes. Conversely, energies can also repel and we may end up meeting with obstacles or people whom we may have a hard time communicating with.
